PROTEC Q18

February 2025 · Winter test · Thermography · Slide-out

PROTEC Q18 passes the winter test once again.

Cold nights, snow-covered roads — no problem for the Q18. It proved itself once again during winter camping.

Even in heavy snowfall and freezing temperatures, the Q18 impressed with excellent handling and remarkable agility. At minus ten degrees it maintained a cosy feel-good atmosphere thanks to its thermal insulation, the hot-water heating and the heated water tanks.

The thermography report provides clarity: the slide-out areas were tested at temperatures below zero degrees and constant interior temperatures of 21°C. The connection areas show no leaks or thermal losses — compared with the windows, only a fraction of the heat loss is detectable.

Across the entire sealing area there is no warping of the components. An even contact pressure of the seal against the interior is ensured. The slide-out seals in the rear section also met all the requirements of the thermographic examination.

No cold compromise — but verifiable winter capability.
